General Meeting Dates:

Our general meetings this semester will be from 7:30-8:30pm on 9/16, 9/30, 10/14, 10/28, 11/11, & 12/2! Go ahead and plan on putting those on your calendar so you can meet the GM requirement. All meetings will be in BSB D110!

Socials

  • Come hangout and study on-campus with a fun drink or energizing coffee! Stay for at least 45 min to fulfill your social credit :)

  • Drive down to 3 Spoons for half off fro-yo right after the general meeting this week! Check-in with me at the social or send me a pic of your receipt to get your social credit.


Scholarly Events

Long SOM AED Interchapter Tour

  • Come tour the Long School of Medicine with us and other AED chapters across Texas! Optional activities after the tour

Alice L. Walton School of Medicine Online Information Session with AED Alumni, Lexi Haviland | Thursday, October 22 | 5:00 - 6:00 pm | Zoom

  • Learn more about AWSOM with AED alumna Lexi Haviland, who will share insights about the school, and her experience!

  • Attend and send a picture of you at the event to quan_le3@baylor.edu to earn 1 Scholarship Credits.

Stay tuned for PHS next semester! Reach out to Quan at Quan_Le3@baylor.edu with any questions regarding scholarly events!

    • This will be another academic resource exclusive for AED members!

    • Submit at least 3 textbook pdfs that are required for a class or 3 syllabi from qualifying courses to earn 1 scholarship credit!

    • Submit textbooks and syllabi by email to Quan_Le3@baylor.edu

    • Qualifying Syllabi are for any classes in: BIO, CHE, ENG, ENGL, PSY, SOC, BINF, ENH, MH, NSC, PHY, PSC, PAS, REL, STA or another class code should count as relevant syllabi for prehealth students!

    • Save us all some money! Share with your fellow members, and they will share with you!

Service

  • Clinical Service Opportunities: Please make sure to email your respective chair and Olivia to inform them of your intent to volunteer. More information can be found in the Clinical Weekly Email sent on July 15th.

  • If you are concerned about a weekly service time commitment, car/carpool situation, or if you are already involved in a valuable service that you are passionate about, please reach out to Olivia at Olivia_Hayes2@baylor.edu with any questions!

Large Service Events

  • Hope with Hallie (formerly known as Goodness with Genesis) will have an LSE on September 17th in the Earle Hall Lobby. 

    • Sign up here for all Hope with Hallie events this semester! Reminder, you must attend 2 Hope with Hallie events in order to get 1 LSE credit, and it can only be used to fulfill one LSE credit.

  • AED requires general members to attend 3 Large Service Events each semester! If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to Olivia (Olivia_hayes2@baylor.edu).

    • 1 Large Service Event can be a “pay for credit” opportunity. Additionally, Loaves of Love and Hope with Hallie can only count for 1 LSE.

    • Please check the Master Spreadsheet, and reach out to Olivia if there are any discrepancies in service credits!

Finance

Dues:

  • Semester Dues are $25

  • Dues can be paid to our Venmo: @BaylorAED or Zelle: “ALPHA EPSILON DELTA” at aed.txbeta@gmail.com

  • Do not mark your dues as a service as it charges AED

  • Please email Alex (Alexander_Dentchev1@baylor.edu) for any questions or if Venmo does not work for you

New Member Events

  • Speed Dating - 9/17 

    • Interested in participating in one of AED’s best traditions?? Then join us Thursday at 6:30 in BSB E206 to become an enzyme this semester!!

    • If you are planning on graduating in Spring 2027, you MUST be an enzyme THIS SEMESTER to get a cord for Fall graduation.

  • FUTURE DATES

    • AE-Detect & Collect 9/27 from 1-4 PM

  • UPDATED CREDIT FORMAT

    • This semester we are implementing a new way of earning New Member credits. Although the requirement will stay at 1 NM social credit, there will be varied distributions of the credits. The recruitment events (8/31 and 9/8), and induction (10/27) will be worth ½ a NM Social credit. The other NM events will keep their worth at 1 credit. This was changed to more accurately reflect the time spent at a NM event, and to encourage more engagement between NMs and GMs. We are excited to see you around this semester!
